Personal de la Secretaría Distrital de Salud practica toma de temperatura a los usuarios de Transmetro, como parte del plan de mitigación del COVID-19 en Barranquilla. La actividad, que se desarrolla
diariamente, de 8:00 a.m. a 12:00 m., en las estaciones Joe Arroyo, La Catedral, La Ocho y Joaquín Barrios Polo / Estadio Metropolitano, está concebida como una medida preventiva. “La Secretaría de Salud está haciendo seguimiento a las personas que transitan por estas estaciones para que guarden las recomendaciones mínimas que viene haciendo Transmetro, desde hace tiempo, y que pretenden disminuir la exposición a la infección por coronavirus. La toma de temperatura, a través de termosensores, es una medida preventiva para detectar cualquier indicio de fiebre que pudiese representar riesgos asociados a la infección por COVID-19”, explicó el secretario distrital de Salud, Humberto Mendoza. Además, en conjunto con los guías del programa SúbeT a la Cultura Transmetro, los servidores de salud pública del Distrito orientan a las personas que
se movilizan en el sistema masivo sobre las acciones de autocuidado que deben tomar durante la cuarentena y posterior a ella, hasta que la pandemia sea controlada. El gerente del Sistema de Transporte Masivo, Fernando Isaza, quien estuvo en compañía del secretario de Salud en una labor de supervisión de la jornada, recordó las recomendaciones dadas por la OMS y el Gobierno Nacional para transportarse de manera segura. “Cuando estés en las estaciones, ten un metro de distancia. Si vas a utilizar el transporte público, tienes que usar el tapabocas, es obligatorio. Respeta el pico y cédula decretado en la ciudad y su área metropolitana. 
Tenemos antibacterial en todas las estaciones para que los usuarios lo puedan utilizar, y estamos haciendo un lavado rápido en los buses cuando llegan a los portales, todo con el fin de evitar la propagación de este virus”, apuntó. Adicionalmente, en diferentes buses de Transmetro se instaló material gráfico de la Alcaldía Distrital en el que se explica el paso a paso de cómo lavarse las manos.
