Al menos 1.361 millones de dólares en empréstitos para el país, fueron suscritos durante el evento. La gerente de la Asamblea, ministra TIC Karen Abudinen, destacó los convenios para conectividad rural, transformación de la justicia, salud, ambiente y la navegabilidad del río Magdalena, entre otros. Barranquilla y las capitales colombianas también se beneficiaron de créditos y cooperación no reembolsable.

Un saldo a favor extraordinario dejó para Colombia la 61 Asamblea del BID 2021, celebrada la semana pasada en Barranquilla. La gerente del evento y ministra TIC, Karen Abudinen, informó que al menos 1.361 millones de dólares en créditos aprobados y cooperación no reembolsable recibirá el país, como fruto de los convenios suscritos con el banco durante la asamblea. Los recursos financiarán programas ambientales, protección en el Amazonas, transformación de la justicia, conectividad rural e iniciativas para la juventud, entre otros.

Un balance de excelentes resultados para el país se logró con la Asamblea del BID 2021

La ministra Abudinen, en un balance final de resultados, destacó la histórica financiación por 600 millones de dólares para la protección ambiental y el fortalecimiento de los programas dedicados a la mitigación del cambio climático, así como la operación de crédito más importante que haya recibido Colombia por parte del BID en materia de salud, mediante un préstamo por 150 millones de dólares, a los que se suman dos convenios de financiamiento no reembolsables, por 9,6 y 1,6 millones de dólares. También destacó el crédito por 100 millones de dólares (que podría llegar a 500 millones en los próximos años) para apoyar el Plan de transformación de la Justicia, y la estructuración, con apoyo del banco, de la APP para recuperar la navegabilidad del río Magdalena, por 1,4 billones de pesos.

Otro de los convenios de financiamiento concretados en la cumbre fue el relacionado con el aumento de la conectividad rural, logrado por el Ministerio TIC, por 180 millones de dólares. Barranquilla, sede de la Asamblea, se benefició con un crédito por 250 millones de dólares, que se aplicará en programas de sostenibilidad y reactivación
