Ella se inició como Animadora de Lectura, en los barrios de malambo donde vive actualmente, fusionando la lectura con el arte, creó grupos de lectura, grupos de cantadoras y danza en las calles, a veces con apoyo de la comunidad. De allí saltó a narrar cuentos, ese empujón la llevó al mundo de la narración oral y el canto, Ya vivía en ella, el deseo de hacerlo.
