0 CARTA PÚBLICA PARA ARTISTAS, ACTORES Y PROMOTORES DEL CARNAVAL Y PARA EL DOCTOR JAIME PUMAREJO ALCALDE DE BARRANQUILLA.
Quiero con todo respeto llamar la atención a una situación que he venido observando con mucha preocupación en el sector de los carnavaleros. Ese grupo de personas e instituciones que hemos apostado siempre a la vida a través de la alegría, nuestra inteligencia, creatividad, respeto y solidaridad. Apunto esta reflexión en los siguientes dos aspectos. El primero y quizás el más relevante se encamina a lo que se demarca como un desatino de algunas personas, que la verdad no obstante de conocerlos muy bien, pues son mis más cercanos amigos y compañeros en el mundo cultural; los desconozco en sus apreciaciones y actuaciones en tan difícil momento.
Duele tanto día a día ser testigos y mirar con sorpresa los registros de los daños de la pandemia del COVID19 en nuestra Barranquilla. Las redes sociales, wasap, noticias de medios virtuales, físicos y demás canales de comunicación dan cuentas de las tristes y lamentables pérdidas humanas de padres, hermanos, tíos, hijos, familias enteras, amigos y personas del común; pero que representan para la ciudad y el país una pérdida inmensa. Créame que no cabe más tristeza en el alma de los colombianos y en la de nuestros coterráneos. Por todo lo que nos está pasando, que no es nada fácil, me resulta inconcebible e inaceptable que compañeros actores y artistas de las fiestas estén preocupados y rompiéndose los sesos por la pronta escogencia de una directora o director de la EMPRESA CARNAVAL S. A. S.
Lo manifiesto públicamente porque es sorprendente la vociferación en videos y otras piezas virtuales de algunos agentes esbozando y mostrando su impaciencia por la escogencia o nombramiento para ocupar el cargo de dirección de la mencionada organización. Será que ellos no ven con sus ojos que estamos a un paso de la muerte con este mal universal. Estas personas debieran más bien crear mensajes de alivio, cadenas de oración, mensajes de fortaleza espiritual, apoyando con voz de aliento a los sufridos compañeros y amigos que han perdido sus seres queridos. Ocuparse en darles gracias a DIOS que no han sido tocados por la desgracia. Estar pendientes de no dar papaya. En cumplir las recomendaciones de las autoridades de salud y ocupar su tiempo libre del confinamiento en cuidar a sus adultos mayores, niños y todos sus cercanos miembros de familias en sus hogares.
No hay derecho tanta insolidaridad humana, pensando en algo insignificante en estos momentos. Concentremos nuestras voluntades en apoyar al alcalde, al sector de la salud: médicos, enfermeros, enfermeras y todo el grupo de profesionales que batallan cuerpo a cuerpo contra la muerte para salvar las vidas que están en las Ucis de clínicas y hospitales. Acompañar a los que no tiene atención médica por falta de camas y les ha tocado quedarse en sus hogares pero que también pelean por sobrevivir al daño causado por el contagio. Respeten la memoria de nuestros compañeros muertos por el virus. No sean Insensatos amigos.
El segundo aspecto no menos importante que quiero poner en consideración, que se tenga muy presente como tarea a futuro una vez salgamos de esta pandemia si nuestro señor Jesucristo nos da la vida, es que se nos dé la OPORTUNIDAD por parte del señor alcalde de Barranquilla, doctor Jaime Pumarejo Heinz, que sea los mismos AGENTES DE LAS FIESTAS, los que a través de unos mecanismos se consulta escojan una TERNA y una vez definida esta sea enviada al mandatario y de ella se escoja a la persona que según sus criterios, valoración, idoneidad, preparación, conocimientos y experiencia dirija la empresa CARNAVAL DE BARRANQUILLA S. A. S.
No es pedir tanto alcalde. Es más bien, darle la posibilidad al sector para que se retome y continúe en la ruta del crecimiento de nuestro patrimonio festivo; que por las mismas circunstancias mundiales nos ha puesto y nos demanda de nuevo a usar esa creatividad y fortaleza de la que hemos hecho grande nuestro Carnaval.
